At The Great Plate, we are passionate about redefining school lunches.

We believe that every child deserves a fresh, nourishing, and delicious lunch cooked from scratch.

Our mission is not just to serve food but also to educate children on healthy eating habits and inspire them to make better food choices.

As a community-oriented enterprise, we pride ourselves on reflecting our values in every meal we serve.

These include promoting children's health,

Championing our hard-working team of staff who are all parents,

and advocating sustainable practices.

Our ultimate vision is to create a culture where every school prioritises nourishment as we do and where every child benefits from a wholesome, nutritious, and tasty lunch.

Our why

At first glance our menu may not look too different to other schools, but we are providing access to more nutritious and delicious foods across the Stroud district by cramming in lots of extra veg, fibre and nutrients. Our Chefs cook from scratch using locally sourced ingredients where possible, promoting sustainability and supporting our local community of growers and farmers.

Education

To complement our lunch time offerings, we also offer empowering and hands on classes, designed to support the Design and Technology curriculum. Working with our in-house nutritionists, the children learn about a variety of foods and cooking techniques, culminating in a feast shared with family members.

As a parent it’s really important that my children eat good quality food at school. The Great Plate provided this and with a really good choice of options that mean both my children are happy to eat at school.
